Summerscales Performing Arts has trained students for the past 25 years offering Dance, Musical Theatre, Drama and Singing tuition giving students the chance to be able to take exams in all disciplines. Within this time, they have created performers who have gone onto the profession successfully. Summerscales Performing Arts have specialised tutors who constantly work to provide an optimum standard of teaching in each discipline.
Summerscales Performing Arts focuses on OPPORTUNITY and holds annual productions so students are able to use the skills learnt not only this, we have taken students to Disneyland Paris and have performed at venues such as the Olympic Games in Sydney and The Royal Albert Hall, to name but a few successes. Summerscales Performing Arts , also pride themselves on giving the opportunity to all students.
Founded by Tracey K Summerscales (FISTD Examiner) in 1984 starting with on 7 pupils, the school has grown into a Performing Arts Centre, training young talented performers for the professional stage. The School have had many successes in Festivals and Competitions over the UK, Laurretta Summerscales was awarded with the Young Dancer of the Year award 2007-2009 and Joshua Lay the IDTA Song and Dance award from The All England Dance Festivals held in the Peacock Theatre, London.
Tracey has expanded the school and herself always striving for the best, and students have been given several awards for excellence from the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) at the Janet Cram Awards, and Tap Awards. Students will also be filmed for the ISTD in their up and coming Ballet DVD's.
All England Festival Adjudicator, Geoff Lucas, commented that Summerscales Performing Arts provides a school that gives years of experiences and opportunities to the ‘professionals of tomorrow all showing a complete love of dance’.
