Summerscales Performing Arts has trained students for the past 25 years offering Dance, Musical Theatre, Drama and Singing tuition giving students the chance to be able to take exams in all disciplines.  Within this time, they have created performers who have gone onto the profession successfully.  Summerscales Performing Arts have specialised tutors who constantly work to provide an optimum standard of teaching in each discipline.

 

Summerscales Performing Arts  focuses on OPPORTUNITY and holds annual productions so students are able to use the skills learnt  not only this, we have taken students to Disneyland Paris and have performed at venues such as the Olympic Games in Sydney and The Royal Albert Hall, to name but a few successes.  Summerscales Performing Arts , also pride themselves on giving the opportunity to all students.   

 

 

 

Festivals

 

Pupils are selected for local festivals and from these Summerscales Performing Arts enters the "All England" dance competition, which takes place around the country, to find the best dancer in every type of dance genre, from Ballet, to Song and Dance.

 

Dancers compete against different schools in different areas, pushing their all round performance skills and technique. We have had a great success in the All England Dance Finals held at the Peacock Theatre, London during July 2007, with the All England Dancer of the year awarded to Laurretta Summerscales. Josh Lay also received the IDTA Song and Dance award.

 

Classes

 

 

Classes are for all abilities, which are on an individual assessment basis regardless of age. The school follows the syllabus and examination requirements for the following organisations - the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), Trinity Guildhall, LAMDA and AQA Education Board. 

 

Shows

 

Our shows are a valued part of our training.  Summerscales Performing Arts  produces a Christmas Show every two years.  The students are able to wear lavish costumes and have a chance to practise their skills whilst performing.
