Laurretta Summerscales
Past Pupil and Co-Director of the Summerscales Performing Arts was nominated as English National Ballets Emerging Dancer 2011. Laurretta danced Aroura from Sleeping Beauty and Carmen from Carmen. She was aplauded for being a "performer with guts" by the judges, which they said was not found in many dancers today. Laurretta will continue to work to live her dream.
Kim Brewin - Critic at the Emerging Dancer Award states "Laurretta Summerscales embodied a mesmerising Aurora with her princess qualities and landings so delicate they were barely audible. A sultry sway of the hips and cheeky peeks from beneath a fan in her second solo converted her to an enjoyably coy Carmen."

New Imperial Classical Ballet DVD
Students from the Karen Clarke Theatre School have been chosen to participate in the new Imperial Classical Ballet DVD's due to be released later this year. This will be available for purchase to teachers and other schools who teach this syllabus around world.

Imperial Classical Ballet Awards 2011
Congratulations to Kathryn Belcher who won the Imperial Classical Ballet awards 2011, as well as receiving the Musicality Cup.
Commendation was given to Rhiannon Bailey as well as the Musicality Award and the Ports de Bras Award.
